Public Speaking is aiming to develop the children's talking and listening skills and help them to become confident, clear speakers.
Children initially participate in the class situation where one student will be selected to represent their class in the stage final. One child is then selected from each stage to represent the school in a zone competition. Class finals usually start in Term 3. Speech times for each stage are as follows:-
Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2) - 2 minutes
Stage 2 (Years 3 & 4) - 3 minutes
Stage 3 (Years 5 & 6) - 4 minutes
